A Kiss on 12seconds.tv

I’ll “study” this deal more closely over the next week or so and report back to you…but 12Seconds is a share site where you can post 12 sec. video pieces to share…duh. But it is so supremely easy, fast and may I say a FABULOUS addition to Social Media. More Soon!

Google Chrome

It is essential that I add a bit of technology for Everyman/Everywoman to this blog.  I will also include reviews and comments I find so that you know this is not just my own opinion…to the point of supporting the average techno-phobe AND techno-phile at home and work.

So the latest (and I mean this month) tech thing you need is Google Chrome:  It is Google’s new Web Browser.  Here are my favorite things about it:

  • It is Free.
  • It is SUPER easy & fast to download and use immediately.
  • The Tabs are very cool, easy to use and every NEW tab opens a set of thumbnails of your MOST visited sites.
  • All your bookmarks will be saved into the NEw Google Chrome.  AND there is an incognito mode if you don’t want these saved.
  • Independent Tabs: IF something crashes your internet…only the open tab will crash…the reat will stay open, intact!
I could go on, but you’ll have to see it in action.
I have had it for a week…now on both my work & home computers.  Makes IE & Firefox look pretty outdated.

Other reviews & Write Ups:

Now tell me what YOU think.

Wine 2.0 featuring Gary Vaynerchuk at Webster Hall in the Village marked the East Coast’s debut of the convergence of Wine & technology. What a fortuitous blend. Techno-philes’ brilliance met the savvy social skills of the wine set and discoveries abounded.

The fabulous old theatre hall hosted 40+ HD screens featuring wine video content from previous Wine 2.0 events, Hahn Estates Winery (that’s us!) & others. Sponsors also hosted wine related web sites including the Twitter Taste Live…an online texting community. You have to see it to believe it. It is very cool.

Here’s what it looked like:

If you’re a winery or have anything to do with selling wine, you had better know about the web. And I mean more than just e-mail. Because right now, there are hoards of tech-savvy 20 & 30 somethings who LOVE wine almost as much as they love technology.

So if you’re not optimizing, twittering & friend-ing people on LinkedIn, FaceBook or Wine 2.0, AND following TTL (aka Twitter Taste Live …for wine & tech geeks alike), you may as well be…under a rock. But I suppose if you’re reading this, you’ve been acquainted with the Social Media platform. It is here to stay in a BIG way.

Find out more NOW.

I’m getting round (John Lennon-like) glasses. I’m actually due for the check up & need to replace my current glasses…I’m blogging about glasses because the shape of glasses, particularly, rectangular glasses are currently all the rage. The network & cable news stations are talking about them. Tina Fey & Lisa Loeb is wear them…and the manufacturers in Japan are slammed with orders (according to a story by ABC) for the style of glasses now made famous by Sarah Palin. Did I mention they were made in Japan? At $375 a pair.

I’m getting round glasses. My glasses will also be made in America. You probably don’t care about the shape of my glasses…but the point is actually about a statement. Our fashion, the food we eat, the wine we drink, the car we drive, the politics we support… all billboards for who we are. So now, my glasses will be too. Not just representative of “smart” or “librarian”, or, god-help me, MILF. The traditional (& some non-traditional) stereotypes. But I like circles. Round is the perfect shape. Spherical, like our planet. Reminiscent of one of the planet’s most monumental musicians of the 20th century, (John Lennon). Our irises & pupils are round. And frankly, and most importantly, they aren’t rectangular.

When you see me walking down the street, if you notice my glasses, you might remark, “those are round…not at all rectangular. I thought rectangles were IN!?” That’s because I am at the opposite end of the spectrum politically from Sarah Palin, and I’d like to look that way. Fashionable, put together & sophisticated…with some independent thinking while I’m at it… Ms. Palin is bad for women, bad for government, & bad for our country.

I’m getting round glasses this week. And while I’m at it, I think those glasses will be pink.
